New York State Department of Health has stated that it plans to allow nursing home visits soon. Guidelines for visitations to be announced on February 22, 2021. The guidelines will follow the C.D.C. recommendations. Families have been waiting a year to see and touch their loved ones. This has been devastating for the elderly who have been more isolated than anyone else in the world. Family members will be required to have a COVID test prior to their visit. DOH will be offering rapid tests for free to family members.
