How Aging Life Care Managers Can Help

The New York Times has written a excellent article about Geriatric Care Managers or Aging Life Care Managers and how we can help elderly folks and their families. Most Americans don't know about us, I have heard family members say that we are one of the best kept secrets out there. Most Geriatric Care Managers are either social workers (like myself) or nurses, all with advanced degrees and experience.
It takes years to develop the knowledge base needed to do this kind of work. You can't graduate college and just walk into this kind of job. Many of us work as private practitioners, although some are in agencies or law firms.
