Dementia & COVID-19



Family caregivers taking care of loved ones with dementia have enough to worry about on a daily basis but with the additional stress and worry that COVID-19 presents adds an unimaginable level of stress on top of that. People with dementia generally speaking don't know nor care about social distancing. And many folks with dementia will fight you tooth and nail when you try to put a mask on them. And hand washing? Well, what can I say?


Ashley Jacobson writes for "The Mighty". The Mighty is a "digital health community created to empower and connect people facing health challenges (elderly) and disabilities."

They have over 2 million users and say that they add a new user every 20 seconds. Jacobson writes about a number of helpful ideas of how to make a difficult situation a little easier for caretakers
