Why do I need a "Power of Attorney"?

"Why do I need a P.O.A.?" is a question I hear from many of my new clients. A POA allows you to have someone you trust make financial decisions for you in the event you cannot not. For example- if you end up in the hospital too ill to manage your own finances someone you trust can take care of them for you. I strongly encourage all of my clients to have a "Power of Attorney". I also recommend clients use a experienced elder care or estate attorney to complete a POA, it is not something you want to do on your own.
